Sinabi ni Sen. Leila de Lima na alam ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kung bakit dapat palayain ang isang ibinilanggong mambabatas mula sa bilangguan. Bilang isang masigasig na kritiko ng administrasyong Duterte, siya nabilanggo mula noong Pebrero dahil sa mga suhol na tinanggap niya mula sa mga drug lords noong siya'y Justice Secretary pa lamang.
Pinatamaan naman ng Senadora ang Pangulo sa pagkukunwaring hindi nito alam kung bakit dapat palayain ang ibinilanggong mambabatas mula sa bilangguan.
“Of course, he knows on what grounds,” sabi ni De lima sa isang pahayag nuong Martes.
“On the grounds that the charges against me are all fabricated, based on the perjured statements of convicted felons; that even the perjured testimonies they provided are grossly inadequate to support the finding of probable cause; that the charges filed are even inconsistent with what little evidence the prosecution has; and, most of all, this is all part of my political persecution for daring to stand up for human rights and against EJKs,” dagdag pa niya.
Ito ay bilang tugon sa pahayag ni Duterte na “On what grounds?” matapos makiusap ang isa sa mga kinatawan mula sa Konseho ng Asian Liberals and Democrats na palayain si De Lima bago matapos ang linggo.
Tumanggi naman ang Pangulo na magkomento sa diumano'y pagkasangkot ng Senadora sa iligal na droga. Ayon sa Pangulo, ang kaso ay nasa hukuman na.
“The President is attempting to surreptitiously, yet futilely, kick dirt to cover his crime by backtracking on his constant public lashings and attacks against me,” sagot ni De Lima
“The president knows what he and his men have done. And he knows he has the power to order prosecutors to withdraw the cases against me in order to rectify a monumental wrong. Unfortunately, he does not have the guts to man up to it, and do what is right—free an innocent woman, and stop the killings of his own people,” dagdag pa niya.
Your fate is no longer at the President's hand. It's in you yourself that can prove innocense through a fair trial. You can also pray God to have mercy but I think can't make it as you admitted the sin of adultery.

ReplyDeleteThere r testimonial and circumstancial evidences to probe Delima was involved in drug trades in our country as previous DOJ sec. one reliable point was with the testimony of her driver who went hiding. So Delima better luck next time, u failed to do a perfect crime..
