Alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles has an explosive revelation to welcome 2018: her alleged P5-million donation to Senator Franklin Drilon in 2010.

In a statement sent to reporters, Napoles claimed that she and Drilon were friends.

They were so close that he even paid for their meals whenever they ate at hotels, Napoles said.

Photos of Senate President Franklin Drilon and his wife with pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles surfaced on television after a said source submitted the photos to GMA news anchor Arnold Clavio. Drilon, however, claimed that he only met Napoles “less than 10 times.”

“Kaya noong bago mag-election ng 2010 na humingi siya ng suporta sa kanyang kampanya, pilit kong ginawan ng paraan at nakalikom ako ng limang milyong piso,” she said.

“Binigay ko ito sa kanya mismo nung magkita kami ulit sa hotel. Laking gulat ko nang makita ko ang interview ni Senator Frank na dine-deny niya na kilala niya ako,” Napoles added.

The alleged brains behind the P10-billion pork barrel scam is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame over plunder and other criminal charges related to the controversy.

On her fifth year behind bars, Napoles said she is leaving it up to God to deal with those who have disowned her as a friend.

“Sa mga tao na kilala ko at biglang hindi na daw po ako kilala, Janet Lim Napoles po,” she said.
