Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said that there will be an influx of smuggling incidents due to the strict statute of Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law.
Even if there will a strict compliance of law, smuggling will arise because of the high taxes tariff of the industry.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Train Law, amended sections of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, doubling the cost of stamp tax on registration, receipts, certificates, charter parties and similar instruments.
