HOUSE OF REP. FINALLY APPROVES JAN. 18 AS NATIONAL HOLIDAY OR "ARAW NG KASAMBAHAY"

With all out and landslide votes of 225 with no against it, the House of Representatives chamber approved House Bill 6285, proposing the national celebration known as "Araw ng Kasambahay." every January 18. Declaring the date as the national holiday serve as their recognition and contributions to the service rendered to every family.

The bill stated that if the special day is during weekend, the holiday will be observed on Friday the week it falls.

Authors are Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas, Pangasinan Representative Marlyn Primicias-Agabas, Parañaque Representative Eric Olivarez, Abang Lingkod party-list Representative Joseph Stephen Paduano, and ABS party-list Representative Eugene Michael De Vera.
