Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio during the ‘Tapang at Malasakit’ event at Hongkong early notify her supporters, the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW's), that she will not run for higher office or a senate seat in 2019 but endorsed Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson and Deputy Speaker of the House of the Representatives Pia Cayetano.

Uson in recent weeks informed the public that she won't be running for a senatorial race despite of the endorsements of House Speaker Alvarez and Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. However, she said in a statement before that only President Rodrigo Duterte is the only one who can convince her from running.
