AFTER 35 years, Saudi Arabia will open first new cinema on April 18

Due to the clerics powerful influence, all cinemas across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were closed down reflecting the rise of conservative Islamist movement in 1970s.

For more than 35 years, through the initiative of Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Arabian region will be opening its new first cinema on April 18 in the capital Riyadh and with the cooperation AMC Entertainment will open 40 more in the next 5 years.

Unlike the notion, movie theaters will not be segregated by gender despite the call of conservatism. 

Salman said that the cinemas will boost the economy of the Arabian region other than the black gold.
