An 18th century bowl from Qing Dynasty was sold from a phone bidder worth US$30.4 million (HK$239 million). This Chinese Emperor Kangxi art, decorated to commemorate his majesty designed with falangcai with six inches in diameter.
According to Chairman of Sotheby Asia, Nicolas Chow said that this Chinese porcelain was sold 5 minutes after was publicly opened for bid.
“This is the absolute finest example to exist. There are only three examples altogether that use this beautiful pink [background],” Chow said.
