A noted murder case of Filipina OFW Joanna Demafelis, a body found in the freezer now brought into justice. The couple killers, a Lebanese husband and Syrian wife were sentenced to death by hanging for evidences led them committed the crime. Despite of their absence, the Kuwaiti court sentenced them with death penalty through absentia. Couple is in the International Police for manhunt operation.

The common slave legal system in Gulf state, Kafala, is the additional concern of the PH governing body to locate better protection of OFW, negotiating memorandum of understanding between two countries to reinforce OFW's security when it comes to slavery and compensation.
