A photo went viral when a woman showed her body knowing later that she is Filipina with her body was being poured with boiling water by her employer's mothers. It went to social media showing skinned back, reddish and spotted body.
President Rodrigo Duterte met with her, Fahima Alagasi, was abused in Riyadh and scalded by her employer’s mother in 2014.
Alagasi, a native of Pikit, North Cotabato, was eventually allowed to leave Riyadh after the retaliatory cases filed against her were dismissed through the intercession of Saudi Prince and Interior Minister Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif following his meeting with Duterte in Malacañang in March.
