Travelers were warned of scams when a travel agent Arlene Calbonero of Blissful Escapes Travel & Tours arrested for allegedly running off with P250,000. The paid five-person trip to Manila, Los Angeles, Mexico, and San Francisco in January went in dismay after Calbonero asked additional P120,000 for booking the flight, the family wanted their mother to celebrate her 80th birthday visiting the Our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico.
She transacted with Calbonero through the internet and through text but an error came when victim attempted to reserve seats on their departure, given the reference number the suspect endorsed.
The suspect was arrested through entrapment operation with P120,000 marked money. The case build up to Estafa.
