14 SENATORS ARE DISMAYED OVER THE FAILURE TO PASS RESOLUTION 738, AS SENATE SOLE DISCRETION TO SERENO

The 14 senators were not happy as the result of the debate in the House of the Senate Resolution 738 seeks to validate the action of the Supreme Court decision over the ousted Chief Justice Maria Loudes Sereno through Quo Warranto Petition filed by the Solicitor General Jose Calida.

The senate wanted to adopt the resolution questioning the unconstitutional manner of the 8 justices who voted Sereno to disqualify his position as top magistrate of the nation.

The 14 senators led by former Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III insisted that only the Congress has the sole power to initiate the concern of Sereno and the Senate is the only body to decide on the matter of impeachment but not with Quo Warranto.
