The Liberal Party allied groups had initiated a call for Solicitor General Jose Calida to be disbarred on the basis of alleged illicit affair and a conflict of interest owning a family--owned security agency.
Calida filed a Quo Warranto that was granted to evict Maria Lourdes Sereno as Chief Justice.
Jocelyn Nisperos-Acosta, a member of The Silent Majority that is allied with the Liberal Party said that “If Calida doesn’t hold up under scrutiny, then definitely disbarment is an option.”
Acosta also dared Calida to show his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth in public to prove his integrity than the ousted CJ Sereno.
