LIBERAL PARTY AND OPPOSITION LEADERS WILL FILE IMPEACHMENT AGAINST 8 JUSTICES WHO VOTED SERENO TO LEAVE

The opposition in the House of Representatives said that they will file an impeachment complaint  against the 8 justices who voted Sereno to leave her office through the Quo Warranto petition filed by the SolGen office, Jose Calida.

Albay Rep. Lagman said “The only viable remedy and constitutional mode of holding justices accountable for their blunder is to remove them from office by impeachment."

Magdalo Party-list Rep. Gary Alejano said it was the duty of legislators to ensure the checks and balance among the branches of government.

Akbayan Party-list Rep.  Tom Villarin said “They violated the due process clause of our Constitution against Chief Justice Sereno when they became the accuser, the witness and they became the judge.”
