Opposition
Senator Bam Aquino would appreciate the support of the Nationalist People's
Coalition (NPC), drove by cousin and previous Ambassador Eduardo
"Danding" Cojuanco Jr., in the 2019 decisions, as he would no doubt
be incorporated into the gathering's senatorial slate, Senate Majority Leader
Tito Sotto said.

Cojuanco
is the founder of the NPC, which was established in time for his presidential
candidacy in 1992.

His
cousin, Aquino, made it to the Magic 12 of the most recent Pulse Asia survey,
where he ranked 10-19, but only placed 14th out of the 15 personalities who
could possibly win a Senate seat in 2019.
Aside
from Aquino, Sotto said the NPC is considering including Senate President Koko
Pimentel, and Senators Grace Poe, Nancy Binay, Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara and
JV Ejercito, who are all gunning for re-election.
Pimentel
previously announced that he and the five other reelectionist senators in the
majority bloc are included in the “long list” of ruling party PDP-Laban for its
senatorial slate.
Sotto
said he and Senators Ping Lacson and Gringo Honasan—a group he dubbed as the
“Three Musketeers”—would play a role in the campaigns of the re-electionist
senators in the majority bloc.
All
of the re-electionist senators figured in the Magic 12, but Ejercito barely
made it in, ranking even lower than Aquino.
His
half-brother, plunder accused and former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, also ranked
higher than him at 8-15, and is also being considered by the NPC to form part
of their Senate slate.
Deputy
Speaker Pia Cayetano is also being considered by the NPC, Sotto said.
He
added that the party would also support Special Assistant to the President Bong
Go and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Senate bids should they actually run.
