SENATE PRESIDENT SOTTO FAVORS TO REINSTATE DEATH PENALTY FOR HIGH LEVEL ILLEGAL DRUG CRIMINALS

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III revealed that he in favor to reinstate the death penalty only for high level of illegal drug criminals. He added that he can back Sen. Manny Pacquio, as principal author to indict criminals related to illegal drugs to death chamber.

He also added that the bill has the better chance to be passed if the provisions will target the high value drug convicts or drug lords.

Sotto said he is favor because he is alarmed knowing that convicted drug lords still operates behind bars.

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon months back said that the bill is dead knowing that the 13 senators would block the proposed reinstatement of capital punishment.
