DUTERTE WAS CHARGED A QUO WARRANTO BY A NUISANCE CANDIDATE ELLY PAMATONG

In five-page petition, a suspended lawyer Elly Pamatong filed a case of Quo Warranto against President Rodrigo R. Duterte. Pamatong was former nuisance presidential candidate who based his petition when Duterte used his powers in filing an "illegal" certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2016 polls.

In his petition, he stated that Duterte withdraw his COC as mayor in Davao City then later on filed a COC for Presidency which according to the petitioner this is not allowed by law.

“Under the law, a candidate who withdraws his COC for one position cannot thereafter file a COC for another position,” he added without specifying a law that can support his case against the President.
