KHO, DUTERTE'S FRAT BROTHER- APPOINTED AS THE NEW COMELEC COMMISSIONER

Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher "Bong" Go stated thru text message to reporters telling that the palace had released an appointment paper on Thursday, July 12, 2018.  The paper pertains to the appointment of the former Undersecretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Antonio T. Kho as the new Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner.

Kho will take over the position of Sheriff M. Abas. The new Comelec official was appointed by the president, however, Kho together with former DoJ secretary Vitaliano N. Aguirre II are fraternity brothers of the president at Lex Talionis in San Beda College of Law.

“Pursuant to the provisions of Section 16, Article VII of the 1987 Constitution and existing laws, you are hereby appointed ad interim commissioner, Commission on Elections, for a term expiring on 02 February 2020, vice Sheriff M. Abas,” the appointment letter read in part.

During the tenure of justice secretary Aguirre II, Kho also serves as justice secretary. Kho had tender his unqualified courtesy resignations to the Office of the President last April. Together with him is new DOJ Sec. Menardo I. Guevarra, who directed all of Mr. Aguirre's assistant and undersecretaries.
