At least 300 Roman Catholic priests and clergymen in Pennsylvania had molested more than 1,000 children since 1940 and senior church officials, one archbishop of Washington, D.C., hid the abuse of his comrade.
The grand jury also revealed that with the records lost in some time, a possibility that the cover-up might be revealed more victims especially some were afraid to come out due to security.
The grand jury accused Cardinal Donald Wuerl, who leads the Washington archdiocese, of helping to protect abusive priests since when he was Pittsburgh’s bishop since 1998-2006 but he denied the allegations.
