The Bureau of Customs at the Manila International Container Port seized the heaviest illegal drugs so far this year at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. At least 500 kilos of Shabu worth more than P4 billion has been smuggled from Malaysia hidden in boxes inside the 24-foot container.
Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said that the contraband was under the name of Vedacio Cabral Araquel, a resident of 712 Galicia St., Sampaloc, Manila. But the consignee registered the shipment as door frames.
