Petitioners and Opposition senators, Kiko Pangilinan, Franklin Drilon and Bam Aquino skipped the first hearing in the Senate with the motion to revoked President Rodrigo Duterte's decision's withdrawal to the Rome Statute or country’s membership in the International Criminal Court (ICC). They were absent in the first day hearing of the oral arguments of the Supreme Court (SC) on their petition.
Earlier, the SC also rejected the motion of the same senators requesting to let detained Sen. Leila de Lima be in the hearing.
The opposition senators instead represented with their lawyer Anne Marie Corominas, said, “Petitioner senators respectfully move that they be given until the next session of the oral arguments within which to decide an appropriate course of action with the issue of representation of these proceedings."
