Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV has failed to secure Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) from the Supreme Court against the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to arrest him via Proclamation 572.
The petition filed by Trillanes seeking to halt the order has been ruled by the Supreme Court to officially denied the motion.
SC spokesperson Maria Victoria Gleoresty Guerra said “Only a trial court and in certain cases, the Court of Appeals, are trier of facts. It is appropriate that the Makati RTCs should be given leeway in exercising their concurrent jurisdiction to hear and resolve the pleadings/motions filed by the parties as regards the legality of Proclamation No. 572.”
