Tindig Pilipinas, an opposition group against the Duterte Administration, on Friday, October 12, endorsed five opposition
senatorial candidates.
These were Free Legal Assistance
Group President Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno, human rights advocate and
former Bangsamoro Transition Council member Samira Gutoc, Magdalo Representative Gary
Alejano and Liberal Party members Bam Aquino and Erin Tanada.
Tindig Pilipinas, which is
one of the opposition groups critical of the policies of President Rodrigo
Duterte, said the five candidates went through a rigorous selection process.
Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman said.
Diokno has reprimanded the "unacceptable" war on drugs of the Duterte Administration which he said undermines country’s legal system.
“I cannot sit still and
remain silent while this government is mounting a total war against humanity,”
Diokno said.
Alejano, meanwhile, bashed the pro-China policy of the Duterte administration.
“Very passionate ako
Philippine Sea,” Alejano said.
Gutoc stressed out that she will bring to the Senate her human rights advocacies particularly for her individual Maranaos who were uprooted by the war against fear based oppressors.
“It is a calamity that is not worth repeating, hindi po pwedeng may Marawi sa
ibang bayan ng Pilipinas,” Gutoc said.
Diokono,
Alejano and Gutoc, who were present during the announcement of Tindig
Pilipinas’ endorsement, also said they are unafraid regardless of whether their names are excluded in the top 12 in the latest Social Weather Stations survey.
formal ranking sa survey because I have not declared, ngayon pa lang tayo
makikilala,” Gutoc said.
The SWS survey was dominated
by returning and re-electionist senators.
“Wala po akong pakialam sa
survey.

Atty. Ferndando Perito:
"They are not supposed to take out any gold reserves from a bank for a private transaction because those are properties of the Philippines. This case would be pursued to the end, and more point on that is to see to it that this gold will be retrived and will be sent back to the banker or to the Country where these are supposed to be kept.
