Senator Grace Poe remains the number 1 choice among preferred senatorial candidates for the 2019 midterm elections, with 67.4 percent of respondents in a Pulse Asia survey saying they would vote for her. Poe, who will run for her second term next year and it followed by Taguig City Representative Pia Cayetano with 55.7 percent. Senator Cynthia Villar ranked third with 50.1 percent voter preference while President Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio placed fourth with 46.2 percent. The Presidential daughter was followed by Senator Sonny Angara Jr., placed fifth in the survey with 41.9 percent while former Senator Jinggoy Estrada ranked sixth with 37.9 percent.
Completing the "Magic 12" are former Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa and Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III both had 37.7 percent, next is Senator Nancy Binay with 37.1 percent, followed by former Senator Serge Osmeña with 36.6 percent, next is former Senator Lito Lapid with 36.2 percent and Senator JV Ejercito rank twelve with 35.6 percent.
Trailing in the survey are Senator Bam Aquino with 32.1 percent, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos with 29.9 percent, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista with 28.5 percent, actor Robin Padilla with 28.2 percent and broadcaster and columnist Mon Tulfo with 27.1 percent.
Also in the top 20 were former Senator Mar Roxas with 26.7 percent, former Senator Bong Revilla with 26.7 percent and broadcast journalist Ted Failon with 25.8 percent.
The survey was conducted from June 15 to 21 and the respondents were allowed to identify up to 12 names.
