Kilalang isa sa mga mainit na kritiko ng Pangulo si Senador Trillanes , na mula pa noong kasagsagan ng eleksyon ay pinapakita na ng senador ang hindi pagsang-ayon nito sa Pangulo.
Sa BBC Hardtalk ni Stephen ay naimbitahan ito sa naturang palabas, ngunit tila tinawanan lamang ito at di mapaniwalaan ang kanyang mga sinasabi.
Trillanes: "During the campaign, the public just thought that this is just rhetoric to make a campaign speeches more dramatic.."
Stephen: "Do you think his war on drug is working?"
Trillanes: "Definitely not! As I mentioned, only the poor people, suspected users and drug pushers are being killed. Running total at least would be more than 9, 000 already, but he has yet to touch the big time drug lords which are already mentioned in the list of barrios law enforcement agencies."
