The Philippine National Police (PNP) and US Embassy in Manila said that 22 PNP officers from newly-formed Philippine Transnational Criminal Investigative Unit (TCIU) traveled to Brunswick, Georgia for an intensive three-week International Task Force Agent Training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). The training was hosted by the US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
HSI and FLETC instructors led rigorous sessions for the TCIU members on entry and defensive tactics, investigative techniques, interviews and interrogations, evidence collection, surveillance, and undercover operations. The Philippines is the first Asian country to host a TCIU. Out of 12 country-participants, PH boosted 13 women officers out of 22 delegates.
