Vicki Momberg was the first woman in South Africa jailed for slur speech. The repeated comment of KAFFIR or black people furies the black community.
The term Kaffir or "k-word" considered the most offensive racial discrimination in South Africa if we brought about the percentage of their population.
Magistrate Pravina Raghoonandan sentenced Ms. Momberg to three years in prison, with one year suspended. Local media reported that Ms. Momberg, once a well-off real estate agent, cried as the sentence was read, the Equality Court also, ruled her behavior offensive and fined her 100,000 rand, or about $8,500.
