The red, communist rebels in the Philippines surrendered a total of 269 high-powered and regular firearms, and 174 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to the Armed Force of the Philippines.
The AFP Public Affairs Office made an statement that the high grade firearms and warfare equipment were seized from operations during January 1 to March 15 and vowed to enhance military capacity to degrade armed mobility of the rebels and educate them with community involvement related to livelihood.
The AFP stand to help them with financial assistance to keep them independent through Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-CLIP.
