After the Foreign news website Asian Correspondent has named Detained Senator Leila De Lima calling her the "flag-bearer for human rights in the Philippines and beyond," thus, named her among the "power woman" in Southeast Asia and listed again in International Women's Day, The Diplomat, as prominent woman.
Now, she once more awarded as "woman to watch", together with were Malaysian activist Maria Chin Abdullah, Indonesia's maritime affairs minister Susi Pudjiastuti, and Thailand's ousted first woman premier Yingluck Shinawatra.
De lima staunched critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, on his rare political will and the drug war, the extra-judicial killings that brought the attention of the world, even in unsure release, the detention will not stop her from scrutinizing the administration.
