The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) reiterated their concern over Senator Leila De Lima's continued detention and called out the PH administration for her immediate release. IPU asked Senate President Aquilino Pimental III to ensure De Lima to participate in the deliberation in fulfillment of her duty as elected legislator.
IPU is an international organization with 178 member parliaments around the world.
De Lima was detained since February 2017 due to cases for alleged conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading pending, with three complaints still pending in the court. She's been labeled as immoral woman and public enemy number one.
