KALAFA SYSTEM: PH TO KSA, REPORTS RISES ABOUT MAID AUCTIONS / POSSIBLE NON-DEPLOYMENT TO SAUDI AFTER KUWAIT

Even in antiquity slavery was rampant in Middle East Countries. Today, Kalafa System is still not anew, where auctioning maids existed. 

Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III  confirmed that they received reports about slavery happening in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, still ensures that thorough inspection will be deployed to assure the safety of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). 

Belo said the they will review the agreement to better protect the Filipinos working at the KSA.

Basic logic of Kalafa System maids are being handed over to other employer/s.
