PH RANKED 10TH IN THE GLOBAL GENDER GAP INDEX AMONG 144 COUNTRIES





Philippines still in the top most countries into Global Gender Gap Index report in 2017. Among 114 countries, PH ranked 10th based on 4 categeries: labor force participation, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. Despite of the drop, PH remains the most gender equal country in Southeast Asia.

The report, released by the World Economic Forum (WEF) mentioned that the country slipped into 3 notches from 7th place last year. One of the pivotal evidence of the fall was the wage equality of country where in 2016 PH ranked 7th and 21st in 2017.
With countries whose economics are advanced, China ranked 100 and Japan and the Republic of Korea ranking 114 and 118, respectively.
