PNOY DENIES DENGVAXIA AS MACHINERY ON THE 2016 ELECTIONS

Former President Benigno Aquino III denied the allegations that the Dengvaxia was used to feed votes for the 2016 elections, thus he defended himself that the “job of protecting the people’s health cannot be held in abeyance by elections.” He said with conviction that during the onset of Dengvaxia implementation he did not violated the Commission on Election (Comelec) ban on disbursement.

Dr. Francis Cruz and the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) accused Aquino, former Budget secretary Florencio Abad, former Health secretary Janette Garin, and several DOH officials of violating Section 261 (o) and (v) of Batas Pambansa 881 or the Omnibus Election Code which prohibits the “release and use of government funds for poll campaign within 45 days before a regular election or 30 days before a special election.”

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ordered the suspension of the vaccination on November 2017 after the Dengvaxia manufacturer French pharmaceutical Sanofi Pasteur claim that it is not safe for people with no history of the infection.
