POPE FRANCIS APPOINTS BRAZIL DIOCESE AFTER BISHOP WAS ARRESTED DUE TO $608K GRAFT





Pope Francis appointed another diocese to administer Formosa in Brazil after the bishop was arrested due to proven graft of $608,000 from church coffers.



The Vatican appointed Archbishop Paulo Mendes Peixoto to administer Formosa Brazil after Bishop Jose Ribiero was arrested due to confirmed graft case, along with clergymen, four priests and a vicar.
Globo, citing police, the arrests are done but names were not published.
The Vatican statement did not mention the arrests.
