RAPPLER, RESSA ON SEC ISSUES COMES ANOTHER BIR, TAX EVASION CASE

While the case of Philippine Depository Receipts is still ongoing relating to Omidyar Network. Maria Ressa, Rappler's founder is facing another hoax  violating Bureau Internal Revenue.

From Security and Exchange Commission to BIR, filed against Rappler over a tax evasion case with deficiency of P133.84 million in relation to PDRs issued to a foreign investors.

Ressa slammed the BIR for filing a tax evasion complaint and labeled another move to an attempt by the Duterte administration to silence critical reporting. In her statement, “This is clear intimidation and harassment. The government is wasting its energy and resources in an attempt to silence reporting that does not please the administration.”
