Amid the controversy of the contested result of Vice-Presidential elections in 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte has expressed his curiosity and asked the status of the manual recount involving seated official VP Leni Robredo and who filed the case for recount former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
The recounting brought issues along since reported that the disparity of Robredo to Marcos became thin due to applied and mandated recounting method of 50%. Robredo filed petition and
motion for reconsideration to consider applying the 25% method of recounting but both being junked by the court. Thus, the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, which is currently doing a manual recount of the votes in select areas with 50% still applies.
"Ano bang latest count nito kay Bongbong, pati kay ano? Ma-vice president ba talaga ‘yan, (what's the latest with Bongbong, also with who? will that be a VP?)" Duterte said.
