President Rodrigo R. Duterte maintained his composure when protesters emerged shouting during the start of his Independence Day speech in Kawit, Cavite.
Dozen of protesters quickly disrupted the President while raising and shouted “Huwad na Kalayaan, Duterte patalsikin.” (Fake Freedom. Duterte Step Down). But immediately the police controlled the protesters.
In the onset of his speech, the President told the police “to just deal with them peacefully and with maximum tolerance. Our Constitution guarantees freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and free expression.We cannot agree at all times for all seasons."
