CATHOLIC LEADERS AND GROUPS JOINS TO BLOCK JUSTICE MARTIRES AS NEXT OMBUDSMAN

Catholic leaders and evangelic groups had joined to block the nomination of Associate Justice Samuel Martires as the next Ombudsman.

Annelle Sabanal, group's spekesperson said that the appointment of Martires will mark bias decisions and it will compromise the independence of the Ombudsman. She cited when SC Justice voted to oust Maria Lourdes Sereno due to her supposed mental illness and religious belief.
