DE LIMA and BAM AQUINO reminds FILIPINOS the legacy of CORY's "DEMOCRACY"

Opposition senators, Leila De Lima and Bam Aquino recalls the legacy of late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino in restoring the country’s democracy. Cory Aquino is often referred to as the Mother of Philippine Democracy for her great contribution in the bloodless People Power Revolution, in 1986.

Bam reiterated her Aunts speech, “She said, ‘I don’t have any formula for ousting a dictator or building democracy. All I can suggest is to forget about yourself and just think of your people. It’s always the people who make things happen’.” 

De Lima said that the Philippines right now has "no sense of bravery" for forgetting the hard work of Cory, thus, “emerging return of the dark chapter in the Philippine history under Duterte.”
