NO ONE HAD OFFICIALLY APPLIED FOR THE CHIEF JUSTICE POSITION-JBC

For almost a month Ex-Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno has been removed as Chief Magistrate in the Supreme Court, the position is still vacant and no one had formally and officially applied even from the senior associate justices.

Lawyer Jose Mejia, regular member of the JBC representing academe said that even 5 senior justices are automatically  nominated as Chief Justice but they have to officially submit documents to officially show their intent to the vacancy.

Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justices Presbitero Velasco Jr., Teresita Leonardo-de Castro, Diosdado Peralta and Lucas Bersamin had not submitted their intent to the position.
