In his third State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Rodrigo Duterte vouched to removed friends or appointees who are abusive in their posts. He said that friendship has "limits" especially government offices and warned to terminate or remove more.
"I have friends and political supporters whom I appointed to public office and then dismissed or caused to resign. I value friendship, make no mistake about it. But it has its limits." Duterte said in his response to anti-corruption.
Duterte has fired at least 20 officials since the first day he took the highest office.
