Senator Antonio Trillanes IV expressed his thoughts, that's why President Rodrigo Duterte is pushing hard to implement Federalism through Charter Change because he wanted to stay in power to avoid cases will be filed against him over his advocacy to eliminate drug trade in the country and anti-corruption policy, which according to some critiques ways are beyond the rules in the land.
He added that the president won't step down in his post to avoid suits to put him in jail and upon the success of Federalism, he will rise in power together with his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as his successor in 2022.
"He is an addict to power,"Trillanes said.
