Inihayag ng United States na
ito ay nagdonate ng P730 million na katumbas sa ($15 million) para sa
rehabilitasyon ng Marawi.
Ginawa ang anunsyong ito ng
US Ambassador to the Philippines na si Sung Kim.
Sa kanyang opening
statement, inilarawan niya ang Marawi bilang "the most urgent
challenge."
Nagbigay rin ito ng kanyang
condolence sa mga nasawing sundalo at mga sibilyan sa panahon ng
kakila-kilabot na labanan.
Dagdag pa ni Kim, "We
all look forward to the end of the crisis, and the end of the fighting and
suffering. We have been and will continue to support the Philippine
government's efforts to deal with the crisis,"
Sa kabilang banda, nasa
ibaba naman ang breakdown ng P730-million US assistance:

P153 million "to
deliver critical relief supplies such as safe drinking water, hygiene kits,
shelter materials for evacuation centers, and for programs to protect displaced
women and children"
·
P577 million "to
support the early recovery, stabilization, and rehabilitation of Marawi and the
surrounding area"
