Sinabi
ni detained Senator Leila de Lima na hindi na pangulo ng Pilipinas si Pangulong
Duterte kundi gobernador na ito ng China.
Ito ay dahil sa pagpayag ni Pangulong Duterte na pasukin ng China ang Benham Rise o Philippine Rise para magsaliksik.
Kinundena naman ni De Lima ang pangyayaring ito matapos umanong iparaya sa China ang Spratlys, ang Benham Rise naman ang ipinamimigay.
Ani nito, sana raw ay hindi na iyon pinangalanan ni Pangulong Duterte na Philippine Rise sa pamamagitan ng isang executive order at sa halip ay tinawag na lamang na Chinese Rise.

Tinuligsa rin nito sina Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan
Peter Cayetano at Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque dahil sa pagtatanggol
sa pag-okupa ng China sa mga teritoryo ng bansa.
“Duterte, Cayetano, and Roque cannot go on serving a foreign master while drawing their salaries from the Philippine government, aside from the fact that as Filipinos, they should not be allowed to get away with treason. That is, of course, unless they turn out to be Chinese citizens all along, then they should be held accountable as Chinese agents,” sabi ni De lima.
