Senator Leila de Lima was astounded when Duterte administration labeled 600 individuals as terrorists including progressive legislators and a United Nations special rapporteur.
She added that action would ignite interests internationally leaving the PH in an eye of scrutiny considering the declaration to serve hundreds of individuals in the list of terrorists. She further explained that, thus, this will vacuum violence resulting human rights violations, the death tools of war on drugs, eradication of communist groups.
She said the President Duterte should understand that peace-building was a painstaking process and that there were legitimate grievances such as injustice, poverty, and lack of economic opportunities fueling the insurgency in the country.
