The
Philippines places third in the 2017 World Robot Games which ended on Saturday
with 24 medals, including 10 golds.
Filipino
students Angel Ken Young, Justin Aaron Natividad and Joseph Dulay each won a
gold medal in the sumobot or droid wrestling category.
In
addition, the country's 7 other golds were in the innovative categories where
teams had to design and build autonomous machines for security and
counterterrorism.
Thailand
was the overall champion while host Singapore placed second.
One
hundred twenty-five students from 21 schools in the Philippines took part in
the 2-day games.
Moreover,
the Philippines will host the 2018 World Robot Games.
