A sotana is a supposed holy garment worn by priest during church services and other church activities.
Usually, sotanas are in a long, clean white or plain black which signifies a lot of things in the Christian community.
However, in the Philippines, netizens spotted a Catholic group where priests wore printed sontanas and even exposed them publicly.
Probably unknown to them that under Prohibited Acts in Republic Act No. 841 Section E lies a rule to never wear the Philippine Flag in any case.
“To wear the flag in whole or in part as a costume or uniform.”
Here’s what the netizens have to say about the latest viral photos uploaded by Eva Demata who captioned the post “Lubid na lang ang kulang para pwede nang itali sa flagpole!”:
“Bawal yan. Posted by Marlon Ramos.
On another post, netizen by the name Nehru De Nehru wrote,” Asan na ang batas na nagbabawal at nagbibigay proyeksyon s watawat ng Pinas.”
A lengthy post by a concerned citizen explained,
Whatever reason the group may have, do you think they should be excuse in wearing the Philippine National Flag over their shoulders or should they be sanctioned too?
