Aiming For A Change

Under the present administration, the whole nation is marked by an enormous step of change which made people believe in number of ways. Drug addiction has been classified as the major problem in our society these days. Individuals who use too much of drugs likely become robots or zombies. Thus, they are manipulating themselves wrongly for the idea of drugs. The tolerant use of drugs strenuously indicates one’s ignorance and curiosity. It is unequivocal that the young ones are the very first victims especially those who are incapable or unaware of using such. A terrible disaster struggled even more to these minors that continually destroy their health and academic performance. Moreover, they become the hands of transporting any forms of drugs from one person to another. This phenomenon is most likely caused by peer pressure, acceptance in the society, and thirst of attention. The sense of belongingness is misunderstood. They consider that by pursuing what their peers say would make them emerge partly or even equal standing to other.

Even so, there are still people who managed to find way back to the proper and acceptable behaviors they were before engaging to drug addiction. These people are the ones who deserve our salutes for the change they endeavored for. Somehow along the way, this gives hope for the many of us. Drug abuse couldn’t be called that way if only we know how to use it in accordance to the proper prescription being given. It can be avoided if the understanding of its use for too much or too less will be instilled not just in the classroom instruction and be extended all through the society, but most importantly be taught by the parents to their children at home.

The so called CHANGE has come verily and inevitably. Education indeed plays a big role in solving this forceful problem. We should place ourselves as means in sharing to others the effects and negative impacts of drugs to human, to help one learn and get rid of it. It is time for us to let our voice be an instrument in servicing our beloved country, Philippines. Let as make one solid holding hand for a better and safer country. — Mitch Atupan, Contributor PhilRepublicNews
